N-coumaroyldopamine is a naturally occurring beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist. It comes from Theobroma cacao (theobromine) which is used as a popular weighy loss stimulant. Other beta-2 agonists include popular fat loss drugs ephedrine and clenbuterol. Inside the body, N-coumaroyldopamine gets broken down into dopamine. N-coumaroyldopamine works by increasing cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) which activates lipolysis. That's when your cells release fatty acids to be burned as energy. This causes increased metabolic rate and energy expenditure. This means more of your fat stores being "burned" and a leaner, tighter physique.
True body composition changes have been sought after for years. To be able gain muscle while at the same time losing fat is the Holy Grail of bodybuilding. Unfortunately, we've been told the body doesn't work that way. You have to choose your goal - to build muscle OR burn fat - go all in for a period of time and then go for the opposite goal. Efficiency is key, so you end up adding a little fat when you add muscle and losing a little muscle when you cut fat. What if I told you that now there was a better way?
Now here's where things get tricky. Beta-2 adrenergic receptors can also have an anabolic effect in muscle tissue. They have been used in the treatment of muscle wasting diseases like sarcopenia and cachexia. N-Coumaroyldopamine has been shown to reduce gluconeogenesis. That's the breakdown of non-carbohydrate stores to create glucose. Basically, you're reducing proteins being broken down to create glucose. This ties into the muscle-sparing effect of N-Coumaroyldopamine.
Now when you eat and train towards the goal of gaining muscle (adequate protein intake) while supplementing with N-Coumaroyldopamone you facilitate fat loss and, through muscle sparing, a higher percentage of overall muscle thereby improving body composition.
